We have now reached a transitory stage in the global market which is characterised by a levelling off of immediate concern, but continued economic uncertainty will likely have an impact on long-term consumer behaviour. For many consumers convenience has become a way of life and this is likely to have lasting impacts on consumer expectations post-COVID 19. Likewise, safety will be paramount for consumers when deciding to re-enter public life, making it crucial for brands and retailers to communicate about the sanitation and distancing measures applied in their retail stores.
